A really fun game that is kinda hard to learn at first as the style of combat can be new to some people, but overall ive had a ton of fun on this game (especially with friends). This game coud've been a masterpiece.The graphics are oldstyle as you would expect from a game using half life's 2 engine( source engine), but they still deliver for what they are, in spite of the game coming out in 2017.The sound is amazing and very immersive, the guns are balanced and every class feels like it's there for a reason rather than variety and only a limited number of people can use a given class, for instance you can't have a whole team of snipers turning the game into a\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665Maps are solid both from the attackers side and the defensive side.Artillery strikes are farly balanced and almost no death feels unjust.Now the bad....the optimization of this game is abysimal, granted you can play almost always at 60 fps even using a toaster, the problem is that at some point it doesn't matter how much powerful your pc is.I was playing this with a I7 4770k, Gainward GTX 780 GLH 16 gb of Ram and it runs 120 fps then 60fps and every now and then below 60 which is already quite bad given the graphics and I even had to lower some of the effects....Then I bought a GTX 1080 and i didn't get not even a single fps more as the game uses only a fraction of your pc not even detecting the rest.The other bad thing which is killing the game is the fact it's becoming abandonware as the developers are getting involved in other project( insurgency) which is fine and everything on their part but that doesn't make the game suffer any less.The game feels kinda unpolished, there are some annoying bugs like not being able to shoot on respawn until you die it happens like twice every 10 hours and maybe I'm being optimistic here...Sometimes your bullet doesn't count and believe me I know that you might hear this alot in other games by bad players but here literally shooting a guy upclose to the head and nothing when the bullet clearly hit, thankfully this happens rarely.The game is cheap and there are still people playing even though the playerbase is getting thinner and thinner, I can recommendit at full price (12 euros) if you really like the genre or on sale otherwise.It's still a good game but far from the what it could have potentially be.. Day of InfamyGreat, realistic WW2 game, made during the WW2 Games boom in 2017Has many good maps made by community like Crete, but also maps made by developers is still good but sometimes becomes boring when again everyone votes for Dog Red. Weapons are balanced and has correct attachments to them. Maybe uniforms is historical uncorrect, but large Steam Workshop community, give us mods that can turn it into more realistic warfare. Unfortunately developers no longer loves their child, and concentrates on Insurgency Sandstorm, what means no uptades and dying community. In game left about 300 veterans that still loves this game and has high ranks and prestiges. You are getting awarded for playstyle by Veteran skins, cloth rifle camo, entrancement tools and units. You can win in-game historical units with their chaeacteristical featutes like patches, camos, voice, uniform details. You can play with them or sold them what makes this good way to get some little money.But it also got some bugs- invisible units, bugged weapon aiming and sometimes melee fight and few more9\/10There would be 10 if developers would still support the game and gived us more vontent with bug fixes and events that could increase numbers of players. Release-and-forget title with longstanding bugs, imbalances, and an unnecessary attachment to the Steam marketplace with cosmetic faction skins.Built off of the WIP Day of Infamy mod for Insurgency, the irony is that now it's only really good for playing the Screaming Steel WW1 mod and only if you can run the game without constantly crashing.. Enjoyable game but because of development upkeep and the developers history I wouldn't recommend it due to a few issues with the game that after a while of playing just make it an annoyance to play.A few bugs that have been around for ages that will never get fixed can really bring down a quick play session, one of these bugs is so common it makes bolt action classes a pain to play - the bug is the inability to aim down sights with it.Another annoying bug is being spawned in the air causing you to get stuck on some maps and have to kill yourself and wait for a clean respawn to join in again - this can take a while some times so much to say I have boiled a kettle and made a drink before being able to spawn again.Some maps can be quite dark and even playing with the brightness in the options will not fix this as areas that have light will become washed out so you will have to dig around in console commands to fix the overall dark lighting issue the game has making it possible to see in some maps and actually having a chance to see people before you are killed.Another major issue is the maps - the issue can range from it being a server killer map and with a low population this is a major thing to another map being so easy for one team to hold the other in spawn making it just unenjoyable to play making people leave and again due to low population this isn't good.The other issue with some of the maps is that on the final attack to destroy a radio some maps just have it so a rocket\/grenade can be thrown in and make any last stand a waste of time to defend it - there are other maps where an officer call in can just take it out causing the same issue.After all of this I would like to recommend the game but the thing that really stops me doing this is due to the developers making games but not fixing bugs that have been around for ages and map balancing issues that have been complained about then go onto announce another game pretty close to the ones that they already have out stopping development older games leaving them in unfinished states.Another new major issue has appeared on this game and that is groups of people joining a server and team wounding then if you vote to kick them for doing so they will get their friends to vote kick you out and it'll always pass because everyone just presses F1 no matter the vote. If there is a person in a server team wounding inside spawn the only option you have is to take the hits because there is no way to stop it.
